'ASS. <br />Recreation Committee Minutes <br />Wednesday, September 8, 1999 <br />The Recreation Committee meeting came to order at 7:4 0 PM in the Conference Room <br />of Reading Town Hall. Committee members in attendance included, Alan Beaulieu, <br />Chairman Jack Downing, Kate Kaminer, Sue Cavicchi, Dennis Lucyniak and Vice <br />Chairman Dave Bryant. Also in attendance were Associate Member Sudie Faye and <br />Recreation Administrator Joe Connelly. <br />Ms. Kaminer made a motion to approve the minutes of the Wednesday, August 11, 1999 <br />meeting. Mr. Beaulieu seconded the motion, minutes approved 5-0-1. <br />Town of Reading Youth Sport Disciplinary Policy <br />Mr. Connelly stated that he has received feedback from the following organizations: <br />Reading T-ball, Reading Women's Sports, Reading Men's Softball and Reading Youth <br />Baseball. Mr. Lucyniak reviewed his organizations draft disciplinary policy. Mr. <br />Connelly explained that there would only be one Town wide policy and not individual <br />policies for each organization. The Committee recommended inserting the following <br />statement in the Recreation Committee policy, "this policy supercedes any individual <br />organization's disciplinary policy." <br />Mr. Beaulieu motioned to acknowledge Reading Youth Baseball for submitting their <br />draft disciplinary policy to the Committee by September 1, 1999, seconded by Ms. <br />Cavicchi, approved 6-0. <br />Mr. Connelly stated that he would continue to seek feedback from the remaining <br />organizations. <br />Committee member Lorraine Salter entered the meeting at 8:00 PM. <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br />Fall Brochure: The Committee reviewed the new brochure. <br />Symonds Way: The Committee discussed the scheduling and _ development of the <br />Symonds Way field site. <br />Spence Farm: Mr. Connelly reviewed the plans for a soccer field at Spence Farm. <br />K. Davis Letter: Mr. Connelly and the Committee reviewed a complimentary letter from <br />a Reading Recreation parent. <br />
