Town of Reading <br />16 Lowell Street <br />Reading, MA 01867-2685 <br />2 <br />FAX: (781) 942-9070 <br />RECREATION DIVISION: (781) 942-9075 <br />Recreation Committee <br />Minutes of September 13, 2000 meeting <br />Town Hall Conference Room <br />MEETING NOTES: <br />Meeting was called to order at 7:31 PM <br />A quorum was declared present. <br />ATTENDEES: Jack Downing, Sudic Fay, Susan Cavicchi, Dave Bryant, Claire Bolger, Chris <br />Campbell, Mary Ellen Stolecki, Alan Beaulieu, <br />8:20 PM Lorraine Salter, Associate Member and Kate Kammer, Associate Member entered the <br />room. <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes, Wednesday, August 9, 2000 <br />Motioned to Approve: Jack Downing <br />Seconded - Susan Fay <br />Passed unanimously 8 - 0 <br />Dynamik Sports was put on the agenda to state their concerns about the miscommunication with the <br />T-shirt bid for the FY2000 season. Recreation Administrator Wayne Currie order the summer camp <br />T-shirts through Reading Trophy without lanowledge that Dynainik Sport had won the bid and <br />should have been the organization responsible for providing the T-shirts. Dynamik Sport was very <br />upset that Reading Trophy didn't mention to the Recreation Administrator that they were not the <br />award winners. Recreation Administrator Wayne Currie met with Dynainik Sport and Assistant <br />Town Manager Russell. Dean as soon as he realized the mix up. <br />For the FY2001 season Reading Trophy won the bid for the T-shirts and Dynamik Sports felt that <br />since they were overlook for the award that they won they should have given priority on the <br />FY2001 bid and should have been given the award. Recreation Administrator Wayne Currie agreed <br />that a mistake happen and will work with Dynamik Sport closely this season but two wrong doesn't <br />make a right. <br />The bidders for the FY2001 T-shirt bid were Dynamik Sports, Reading Trophy and RTS <br />Enterprises. It is the of the Recreation Division and Committee to try policy and keep, business in <br />the Reading Community. <br />
