Committee Member, Adam Chase, Associate Member, John Feudo, Recreation <br />Administrator <br />C. Campbell called the meeting to order at 7:07 PM. <br />J. Feudo informed the Recreation Committee that due to Travel Basketball tryouts minutes for the <br />October meeting would not be ready until the December 10th meeting. <br />K. Kaminer and N. Swain opened the meeting with a review of Rachel's Challenge. Both felt the <br />program was excellent, powerful and effective. <br />Travel Basketball Update <br />J. Feudo discussed the Travel Basketball tryout process and a couple of the minor issues that arose <br />over the 4 nights. Overall the program will have 17 teams with close to 200 kids participating. <br />always most people are very satisfied and happy with their placement. A special thanks to Kate <br />Chris, Adam, Mary Ellen, Nancy and Frank for helping out with the evaluation process. <br />Killam Field Master Plan <br />As <br />J. Feudo went over the specifics for the Killam Field Master plan. This plan was developed with <br />input from both the Principal of Killam. School and the President of Youth Baseball of Reading. <br />The plan basically calls to shift the ball field back approximately 20 feet closer to the parking area <br />with a new and improved backstop. The plan also calls for renovation of the current play structure <br />and the creation of new K-2 structure. Both of these areas along with the swing set area will have <br />an ADA path connecting them. <br />As part of the process the Recreation Committee will hold a public hearing for the master plan at <br />it's January meeting. As a side note, Youth Baseball of Reading has committed to purchasing the <br />new backstop once the plan is approved and implemented. <br />Administrator's Report <br />J. Feudo reported that the Halloween Parade was a great success. Thanks to the Reading Police <br />Department, Reading Fire Department, FORR, Town Pizza and IMAX for their support and <br />participation. <br />
