BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br /> EMERGENCY MEETING <br /> May 20, 1986 <br /> The meeting was convened at 7:40 p.m. by Chairman Landers. Superintendent <br /> Fletcher and Assistant Superintendent Redford presented the Dept. of Public <br /> Works plans for the relocation of offices from the Community Center neces- <br /> sitated by the sale of the building. <br /> Questions from the Board of Selectmen and those in attendance were addressed, <br /> and after some discussion a motion was duly made, seconded and <br /> Voted: that the relocation plan as submitted by Superintendent <br /> Fletcher be approved and implemented. <br /> Superintendent Fletcher then presented Phase II, or the long range plan for <br /> resolving space and relocation problems and handicap access to the buildings. <br /> During his presentation Mr. Fletcher stated that his opinion that the stacks <br /> could be removed from the Library had been 'confirmed by professionals, pro- <br /> viding additional space for consideration. <br /> Again questions from the Board, representatives from the Municipal Space <br /> Building Committee, the Historical Commission and citizens regarding physical <br /> changes in the structure of the buildings, compliance with state codes and <br /> regulations, and the handicapped elevator were answered. After additional <br /> discussion, the Board of Selectmen, allowing there were many options available <br /> and these plans were not final, approved the basic concept for the renova- <br /> tions to the Town Hall and the Old Library (Annex) ; and instructed the <br /> Superintendent to obtain costs for the proposed plan. <br /> Mr. Nordberg of the Municipal Space Building Committee commented on his <br /> concern that the Committee was not informed that this project had been under- <br /> taken, but indicated his Committee would like to work on developing these <br /> ideas. <br /> The meeting adjourned at 10:30 p.m. <br /> Eugene R.
