Board of Selectmen-September 2'8, 1987 <br /> Meeting convened at 7: 40 P.M. The following members were present; <br /> Eugene Nigro Vice Chairman, Russell Graham Secretary, Mollie <br /> Ziegler, Town Manager Peter I. Hechenbleikner, and the following <br /> citizens; Gerry Massa, Edward Wright, Charles Gilligan, John F. <br /> Tormey, Virginia Adams, Richard Dempster, William McIsaac, Mar- <br /> garet Plansky, Gretchen Latowsky, Ann Mark, and Carolyn Whiting. <br /> On motion by Ziegler seconded by Graham the minutes of September <br /> 17, 1987 were approved and released. The vote was 3-0-0 . <br /> On motion by Graham seconded by Ziegler the minutes of September <br /> 21, 1987 were approved as submitted. The vote was 3-0-0 . <br /> The Board interviewed Diane Lynne Callahan for the position of <br /> Housing Authority. It was also indicated that the Board had <br /> received an additional application and that interview, would be <br /> scheduled for the 13th of October. The Town Manager indicated to <br /> the Board of Selectmen that we received notice from the Mas- <br /> sachusetts Executive Office of Communities and Developments <br /> upholding Reading' s Charter providing for the appointment of the <br /> Housing Authority members by the Board of Selectmen. <br /> Mr . Lorance called and asked for his interview for the Fire <br /> Education Study Committee to be postponed until the 13th. The <br /> Board asked for a resume or additional information on Mr . <br /> Lorance. <br /> It was noted that there are a number of committees that need ad- <br /> ditional volunteers. <br /> On motion by Ziegler seconded by Graham a proclamation was ap- <br /> proved 3-0-0 regarding Knights of Columbus Handicapped Days. <br /> On motion by Ziegler seconded by Graham a proclamation was ap- <br /> proved for National Business Women' s Week by a vote of 3-0-0 . <br /> Doris Fantasia, Town Clerk, will attend the dinner on October 5th <br /> for the Board of Selectmen. <br /> Under liason reports, Mollie Ziegler indicated that the Budget. <br /> Format Review Committee had met and was reviewing by-laws , <br /> Charter, and other material. <br /> Also under liason reports, Eugene Nigro indicated that he had met <br /> with the Director of Human Services and that Council on Aging was <br /> conducting a review of their functions <br /> At 8 :00 P.M. the Warrant was closed. This was completed on .mo= <br /> tion by Ziegler seconded by Graham on a vote of 3-0-0 . Town - <br /> Moderator Paul Dustin was in the audience and asked about discus7.,,-. <br /> sion on the various Articles. On motion by Ziegler seconded -'b <br /> Graham the Board of Selectmen approved the sponsorship of all"-of <br /> the Board of Selectmen sponsored Articles proposed by a vote of <br /> 3-0-0. <br /> 1 <br />
