Minutes of the Board of Selectmen Meeting <br /> June 19, 1990 <br /> Meeting convened at 7 :35 p.m. Present were Chairman Russ Graham, <br /> Vice Chairman Dan Ensminger, Secretary George Hines, Selectmen <br /> Sally Hoyt and Eugene Nigro. The following residents and others <br /> also were present : Peter Tassi , Isidoro Perez , Brian <br /> O'Shaughnessy, Eva Hakanson, Lois Bond, Gladys Cail, Lorraine <br /> Salter, Thomas J. McGrath, Ruth Cogan, Fran Brown, John Flynn, <br /> John Fallon, Trish Brigham, W.C. LeClerc, William P. Hery, David <br /> Powell , Charles Venuti, Robert Conner, Donald Welford, John <br /> Bruno, Dennis Lane, and Zigrids Apse. <br /> On motion by Nigro, seconded by Hoyt, the minutes of June 5, 1990 <br /> were approved as corrected by a vote of 5-0-0. <br /> On motion by Hoyt, seconded by Nigro, the minutes of June 12, <br /> 1990 were approved by a vote of 4-0-1, with Ensminger abstaining. <br /> Liaison Reports <br /> Eugene Nigro had none. <br /> George Hines indicated that he had attended the RMLD signing in <br /> North Reading. <br /> Chairman Russell Graham indicated that he had led the Pause for <br /> the Pledge on the Common, and, although it was a small group, it <br /> was an impressive ceremony. <br /> Dan Ensminger reminded the Selectmen that he needed the Town <br /> Manager Evaluation Reports. <br /> Sally Hoyt indicated that she had attended the Peer Leaders <br /> reception; she had attended the Police Reserves Dinner; the Hear- <br /> ing Clinic tested 29 people, with 13 passing and 16 needing <br /> follow-up; the Board of Health is meeting tomorrow; spraying for <br /> mosquitoes was done last week; the pools are open and some in- <br /> struction begins at the Town Pool next week. Some programs were <br /> canceled because of lack of participation; she will attend the <br /> Reading Housing Authority meeting on July 9th; Fafard has offered <br /> the housing units for the linkage of the Schoolhouse Development <br /> at $95, 000 for a one-bedroom unit, and $125, 000 for a two-bedroom <br /> unit; Section 707 regulations regarding tenant selection are <br /> being considered by the Housing Authority. <br /> Public Comment <br /> The Town Manager indicated that he had talked with Crestview Ex- <br /> xon and with the neighbor of Crestview Exxon. Crestview Exxon is <br /> having gaskets put on all of the covers for underground <br /> facilities, and also is investigating the possibility of changing <br /> to fiberglas covers. -- <br /> Barbara McAllister, who has been working for the Town in an un- <br /> paid capacity one day a week for the past several months while on <br /> leave from the EPA, received a Certificate of Appreciation from <br /> the Board of Selectmen. <br />
