Minutes of the Board of Selectmen Meeting <br /> May 10, 1990 <br /> The meeting was called to order at 7:06 p.m. by Chairman Russell <br /> Graham in Room A209 of the Reading Memorial High School, 62 Oak- <br /> land Road, Reading, MA. Present were Selectmen Hines, Nigro, <br /> Hoyt; Finance Committee members White, Agneta, Burditt, Allen, <br /> MacDonald and Greene ; staff Fletcher, Foley , McIntire , <br /> Hechenbleikner, Cohen, Klepeis; Town Moderator Paul Dustin. <br /> On motion by Nigro, seconded by Hoyt the Board of Selectmen voted <br /> to go into Executive Session for the purpose of discussing <br /> litigation. Each member voting in favor the motion passed by 4- <br /> 0-0. <br /> On motion by Burditt, seconded by Don Allen the Finance Committee <br /> voted to go into Executive Session. Each member present voting <br /> in the affirmative, the Finance Committee voted to go into Execu- <br /> tive Session by a vote of 6-0-0. <br /> The Town Manager reviewed the current status of the RESCO situa- <br /> tion. The recommendation is to cut the budget for trash removal <br /> to +/- $900,000, to inform Town Meeting of that this evening, and <br /> to delay future budget presentations until the budget can be <br /> modified based on the new figures. Ted Cohen was asked if he <br /> felt that the legal position was sound in terms of the revised <br /> figures and he indicated that this was in accordance with the <br /> contract the Town of Reading has with RESCO. The Town is con- <br /> sidering entering into litigation with the 19 other communities <br /> with RESCO to insure that this position is upheld. <br /> On motion by Hoyt, seconded by Hines the Board of Selectmen on a a <br /> roll call vote voted 4-0-0 to come out of Executive Session at <br /> 7:35 p.m. All members voting in favor the Board of Selectmen <br /> came out of Executive Session. <br /> On motion by White, seconded by Agneta the Finance Committee <br /> voted to come out of Executive Session with all six members <br /> voting in the affirmative by vote of 6-0-0. <br /> On motion by Hoyt, seconded by Hines the Board of Selectmen voted <br /> to adjourn at 7:36 p.m. <br /> Respectfully subitted: <br /> 7 <br /> '411v <br /> /4� <br /> � - <br /> SecreVary <br />
