Minutes of the Board of Selectmen Meeting <br /> April 10, 1991 <br /> The Board of Selectmen met in joint session in the <br /> Superintendent's Conference Room, Reading Memorial High School, <br /> 62 Oakland Road, Reading, MA. The . meeting was convened at 7: 30 <br /> p.m. Present were Chairman Eugene Nigro, Vice Chairman Dan <br /> Ensminger, Secretary Sally Hoyt, Selectmen Russ Graham and George <br /> Hines, School Committee Chairman Stan Nissen, School Committee <br /> Vice Chairman Barbara Philbrick, School Committee members Matt <br /> Cummings, Mary Williams, and Tim Twomey, Superintendent Robert <br /> Munnelly, Town Manager Peter Hechenbleikner, the candidates and <br /> other interested parties. <br /> The combined committee consisting of the members of the Board of <br /> Selectmen and the members of the School Committee met to inter- <br /> view candidates to fill an unexpired term on the School Committee <br /> beginning on April 23, 1991 and expiring at the completion of the <br /> election in March 1992. Interviewed were Cliff Allen, Sue Cavic- <br /> chi, Robin D'Antona, George Shannon, Greg Tocco, and Marie <br /> Zenewicz. <br /> On motion by Ensminger seconded by Philbrick all names were put <br /> -- into nomination. On the first ballot the voting was as follows: <br /> Cliff Allen - 0, Sue Cavicchi - 2 , Robin D'Antona - 4, George <br /> Shannon - 4, Greg Tocco - 0, Marie Zenewicz - 0. <br /> Following further discussion, a second ballot was held at which <br /> Robin D'Antona received five votes and George Shannon received <br /> five votes, all other candidates receiving no votes. <br /> Following further discussion, Dan Ensminger moved that a unanim- <br /> ous ballot be cast for George Shannon. That motion was not ap- <br /> proved by vote of 9-1-0. <br /> On a third and final ballot Robin D'Antona received two votes and <br /> George Shannon received eight votes. George Shannon was elected <br /> to a term on the School Committee beginning April 23 , 1991 and <br /> expiring at the end of election in March 1992 . <br /> At 10:00 p.m. the Board of Selectmen adjourned while the School <br /> Committee continued their session. <br /> Respectfully submitted: <br /> z , <br /> Secreta)ty <br />
