Minutes of the Board of Selectmen Meeting

<br /> The meeting was called to order at 7: 35 p.m. in the Selectmen's
<br /> Meeting Room, 16 Lowell Street, Reading, Massachusetts. Present
<br /> were Chairman Russ Graham, Vice Chairman Dan Ensminger, Selectmen
<br /> Eugene Nigro and Sally Hoyt , Town Manager Peter I .
<br /> Hechenbleikner, and the following list of residents and inter-
<br /> ested parties : Jean MacKilligan, Howard MacKilligan, Lisa
<br /> McCauley, Carolyn Morse Jennifer Doucette, Maureen Morse, Mike
<br /> Chapman, Kenneth Pratt, David Malone, Dennis Brown, Gary Catal-
<br /> famo, Kevin Brown, Leslie York, Irene York, Jim Guptill, Betty
<br /> Guptill, Barbara Philbrick, Mary Williams, George Shannon, Fred
<br /> Van Magness, Willard Perkins, Leonard Redfern. Selectmen George
<br /> Hines arrived at 7:45 p.m.
<br /> On motion by Hoyt, seconded by Ensminger, the minutes of February
<br /> 12, 1991 were approved as amended by a vote of 4-0-0.
<br /> On motion by Ensminger, seconded by Hoyt, the minutes of February
<br /> 23, 1991 were approved by a vote of 3-0-1, with Hoyt abstaining.
<br /> On motion by Hoyt, seconded by Nigro, the minutes of February 26,
<br /> 1991 were approved as amended by a vote of 3-0-1, with Ensminger.
<br /> abstaining.
<br /> Liaison Reports
<br /> Eugene Nigro indicated that he had toured the Water Treatment
<br /> Plant, and was pleased to see the status of the work on the Water
<br /> Treatment Plant improvements, and note that testing is done
<br /> regularly to ensure the quality of the water supply. He also at-
<br /> tended the conference in Stoneham with regard to State aid, and
<br /> attended the Girl Scout Pancake Breakfast.
<br /> Russ Graham indicated that he, Jack Russell, Tony Fletcher and
<br /> Pete Hechenbleikner met with TASC to work out the cost and clean-
<br /> ing up of the Department of Public Works site. He also attended
<br /> the Water Treatment Plant tour. He attended the opening ceremony
<br /> for S.A.D.D. with Les York. He also had the pleasure of speaking
<br /> at a luncheon of the Massachusetts Collector-Treasurers Associa-
<br /> tion at which Beth Klepeis was installed as President. He will
<br /> attend the Girl Scout Gold Award program on Sunday. He will also
<br /> be attending the Candidates' Forum, and reminder people to vote
<br /> on Monday.
<br /> Dan Ensminger indicated that he had met with the Superintendent
<br /> regarding enrollment projections:
<br /> Sally Hoyt indicated that she had attended the Girl Scout Break-
<br /> fast, and also reviewed several issues regarding the Department
<br /> of Human Services.
<br /> George Hines had no report.
<br /> Appointments
<br /> The Board interviewed Jean MacKilligan as a candidate for the
<br /> Board of Registrars. She was recommended by the Democratic Town
<br /> Committee. Following the interview, on motion by Hoyt, seconded
