f
Minutes of the Board of Selectmen Meeting
February 23, 1991
The meeting convened at 9: 10 a.m. in the Selectmen's Meeting
Room, 16 Lowell Street, Reading, MA. Present were Chairman Russ
Graham, Vice Chairman Dan Ensminger, Secretary George Hines,
Selectman Eugene Nigro, Town Manager Peter Hechenbleikner,
Finance Director Beth Klepeis.
On motion by Nigro, seconded by Ensminger the Board voted to ap- .
prove the sale of bonds as outlined in the material that required
their signature. The vote was approved by a vote of 4-0-0.
Dan Ensminger asked what we were doing with local aid, and sug-
gested that the Board of Selectmen continue to monitor and even-
tually take a position on some of the initiatives being discussed
with regard to Prop 2 1/2 and local aid.
George Hines brought up the question of custodial issues and per-
sonnel issues related thereto. The Town Manager indicated that
in order to realize the efficiency of consolidating the school
and municipal building maintenance functions, that one of the su-
pervisory positions would have to be eliminated.
The Selectmen talked about a monthly report on the status of ap-
propriations. They reviewed the material that the Town Account-
ant had prepared, and felt that it was not terribly valuable.
They requested the Town Manager to monthly bring the Board of
Selectmen up to date on any areas where there were potential
problems.
On motion by Ensminger, seconded by Nigro the Board voted to ad-
journ at 11: 10. a.m. by vote of 4-0-0.
Respectfully submitted:
Secretary
