Minutes of the Board of Selectmen Meeting <br /> April 7, 1992 <br /> The meeting convened at 7:39 p.m. Present were Chairman Eugene <br /> Nigro, Vice Chairman Dan Ensminger, Secretary Sally Hoyt and <br /> Selectmen George Hines and Bill Burditt, Town Manager Peter <br /> Hechenbleikner and the following list of interested citizens: <br /> Bill Brown, Leslie York, Irene York, Bernice Herrick, Charles <br /> Herrick, Ed Driscoll, Pat Driscoll, Len Pienta III, R. A. Coco, <br /> M. H. Andreola, Annette Flanagan, Trish Brigham. <br /> On motion by Ensminger seconded by Hoyt the Minutes of March 3, <br /> 1992 were approved as amended by vote of 3-0-2 with Burditt and <br /> Hoyt abstaining. <br /> On motion by Hoyt seconded by Ensminger the Minutes of March 17, <br /> 1992 were approved by vote of 4-0-1 with Burditt abstaining. <br /> On motion by Hoyt seconded by Ensminger the Minutes of March 31, <br /> 1992 were approved by a vote of 5-0-0. <br /> Liaison Reports <br /> Bill Burditt extended congratulations to Dick Coco on being <br /> elected Chairman of the Finance Committee. He also asked about <br /> the possibility of naming an athletic field for Dickie Doucette. <br /> Sally Hoyt reviewed activity with regard to Elder Services and <br /> the Senior Center, with regard to Recreation registrations, with <br /> regard to the Drug and Alcohol Council Program. She also indi- <br /> cated that the early retirement bill (this is for state workers) <br /> is on the Governor's desk. <br /> George Hines attended the FinCom meeting, and they will meet <br /> again on the 22nd with regard to the Ice Rink. He received calls <br /> and mail with regard to the rubbish collection disposal program. <br /> Dan Ensminger had no report but indicated that he had received <br /> lots of calls. <br /> Gene Nigro indicated that he represented the Board of Selectmen <br /> at the Library Awards Program for youngsters who wrote essays on <br /> What the Community Means to Me. <br /> George Hines asked the Board of Selectmen to direct the Town <br /> Manager to begin the PWED application process for the access road <br /> to the Nike base. <br /> Public Comment <br /> On motion by Hoyt seconded by Burditt a proclamation for S.A.D.D. <br /> week of March 30 was approved by a vote of 5-0-0. <br /> On motion by Burditt seconded by Hoyt Richard Foley was appointed <br /> to the position of Town Accountant for a term from 4/1/92 through <br /> 3/31/93 by a vote of 5-0-0. It was indicated that the perfor- <br /> mance evaluation process hasn't been completed and George Hines <br /> as the liaison will keep it active.
