I
Board of Selectmen Meeting
January 21, 1995
The meeting convened at Franklin and Pearl Street at 9:00 a.m. Present were Chairman Dan
Ensminger, Vice Chairman Bill Burditt, Selectman Camille Anthony, Town Manager Peter
Hechenbleikner, Town Engineer Joe Delaney,Tree Warden Bud Dickey and resident Ellen Cool.
The Board walked the full distance of Pearl Street from Franklin Street to Main Street. They
reviewed alternative designs which may avoid taking some of the trees. They also reviewed the
potential for sidewalk construction. The consensus of the Board was that there was no feasible
design for sidewalk construction without doing massive damage to the trees along this piece of
Pearl Street.
Engineering will review shifting the roadway slightly to the east opposite 692 Pearl Street and 644
Pearl Street in order to avoid taking trees. In one instance this will require Conservation
approval.
On motion by Anthony seconded by Burditt the Board voted to proceed with the removal of the
tree in front of 633 Pearl Street because there was no feasible alternative to removal of that tree
and improvement of the road. The motion was approved by a vote of 3-0-0.
On motion by Anthony seconded by Burditt the Board voted to adjourn at 10:35 a.m. by a vote of
3-0-0.
Respectfully submitted,
Secretary
