o�' orn of <br />°_ Town of Reading <br />�r^o��r Meeting Minutes <br />s"�rxcaav°�`e <br />Board - Committee - Commission - Council: <br />Climate Advisory Committee <br />Date: 2022-05-11 <br />Building: Reading Town Hall <br />Address: 16 Lowell Street <br />Purpose: Bi -monthly meeting <br />Attendees: Members - Present: <br />Time: 7:00 PM <br />'RECEIVED <br />TOWN CLERK <br />REAn1NG, MA. <br />VACI <br />2023 MAR -8 PM 3: 1; <br />Location: Berger Room <br />David Zeek, Chair; Ray Porter, Secretary; Jeff Everson, Member; Celeste <br />Kracke, Member; Walt Talbot, Associate Member; Travis Estes, Associate <br />Member; <br />Members - Not Present: <br />Genady Pilyaysky, Member; <br />Others Present: <br />Minutes Respectfully Submitted By: Ray Porter <br />Topics of Discussion: <br />Meeting was held via a Zoom Conference Call <br />Welcome to Members and Guests <br />Review minutes, vote on acceptance <br />Bike Recycling Event Summary <br />• Over 100 bikes were received <br />• Over 70 bikes were returned to new homes <br />• About 2 dozen were taken to "Bikes Not Bombs" for reuse <br />• About a dozen were taken for donations to other homes <br />Town Forest Appreciation Day Summary <br />• Table was setup with posters promoting alternative lawns <br />• Other items on the table were Community Garden sign-up and Covid Test Kits <br />• Child activity included making soil, filling a cup and putting a seed into the soil <br />• Travis, Genady and Reading DPW provide soil mixture components <br />Friends and Family Day <br />• Feature heat pump <br />• Travis has working unit that can be plugged in <br />• Travis to look into charts or graphs that can be printed for display <br />• Ray thinking up child engagement activity <br />• Dave to prepare handout in support of Sustainability Manager <br />Page 1 1 o.m <br />
