is EC EIV ED <br />Town of Reading MOWN CLERK <br />Meeting Minutes READING, MA. <br />Ip Rilc <br />2023 JAN -9 AH 11: 26 <br />Board — Committee - Commission — Council on Aging: <br />Date: 2022-06-13 Time: 6:37pm <br />Purpose: Council on Aging <br />Location: Zoom Meeting <br />Members Present: Jackie Behenna, Barbara Carney, Joan Coco, John Parsons, Karen Pinette, Marilyn Shapleigh, <br />Debbie Small, Karen Fotino, Sandy Shafer, Nancy Ziemlak, <br />Members Not Present: lolyn Ek <br />Others Present: Amy O'Brien,EHS Administrator/Mark Dockser and Karen Herrick, Select Board Liaison, Kevin <br />Bohmiller/Public Services, 2 guests: Angela Binda and Patty Noon <br />Minutes Respectfully Submitted by: Nancy Ziemlak <br />• Meeting Called to Order at 6:13 <br />• Motion made to accept minutes from May 2022: all members voted in favor to accept minutes with <br />noted corrections. <br />Elder and Human Services Update <br />• Thanks to Kevin for his hard work and he will be sorely missedllll I <br />• PSC is closing at 12 now. <br />• Coordinator position is now full time. Interviews to be scheduled shortly. <br />• Part time back up van driver hired <br />• Amy presented average daily attendance report for PSC activities <br />• Friends and Family Feedback - <br />o Thanks to Rosemarie DeBendetto for her enthusiasm and recruitment of additional volunteers. Freebie <br />give aways were a huge success. <br />Financial Report <br />• COA is in good shape <br />• Amy will be running reports on go forward basis <br />• End worked with Mark Dockserto generate a modified report to highlight available money Burbank Financial <br />Report. <br />• Also, do this for other trusts. <br />Select Board Liaison Report <br />• Karen Herrick will also be a COA liason <br />• ARPA recommended funding a total of $900,000 of which $600,000 is targeted for elders programming and <br />services and $300,000 for Feasibility Study <br />• RFP posted for expanded space options <br />• SB looking at affordable housing and potential senior housing. Affordable Housing Trust, $400,000, is to be <br />reorganized in order to better utilize the funds available <br />• New Committee proposed to be formed to look at the property on Symonds Way for possible development <br />opportunities. Point was raised that this committee should follow the timeline set by ReCalc in order encourage <br />collaborative decision making between the two Committees. A letter was drafted and proposed to be sent to <br />
