RECEIVED <br />Town of Reading TOWN CLERK <br />Meeting Minutes READING, MA. <br />Rtc <br />2823 JAN -9 AM 11'. 24 <br />Board —Committee - Commission — Council: <br />Date: 2022-04-11 Time: 6:39pm <br />Purpose: Council on Aging <br />Location: Zoom Meeting <br />Members Present: Jackie Behenna, Joan Coco, John Parsons, Karen Pinnette, Sandy Shafer, Marilyn Shapleigh, <br />Nancy Ziemlak, Barbara Carney <br />Members Not Present: Karen Fotino, Sally Hoyt, Debbie Small, Jolyn Ek <br />Others Present: Amy O'Brien,EHS Administrator/Mark Dockser, Select Board Liaison, Kevin Boymiller/Public <br />Services, Kerry Valle/Senior Case Manager <br />Minutes Respectfully Submitted by: Nancy Ziemlak <br />Meeting Called to Order at 6:39 <br />Motion made to accept minutes from Mar 2022: all members voted in favor to accept minutes with <br />note to correct one section. <br />EHS Update Amy O'Brien <br />• Well attended ReCalc Forum. About 70 people attended IPM session at senior center and about <br />20attended at the library. <br />• It was noted more people are coming in for classes. April Birthday lunch a week from tomorrow. Taxes <br />wrapped up last week, Volunteer appreciation next week. <br />• There are waiting lists for most programs and these number are documented for the record. <br />• Planning to roll out, this summer, the ability for people to sign up for classes online using <br />myseniorcenter application. On site classes/how to sessions will be offered for patrons. <br />• Three candidates have applied for the PSC Program Administrator position. <br />• A draft of the plan for trips through December will be shared shortly. <br />Financial Report- Kevin Boymiller <br />Kevin reviewed the charts included in the packet. There was a request to include the interest available <br />to -date on the reports as well as any expenditures from these funds. Kevin will look into it. <br />Select Board Liaison Report- Mark Dockser <br />• ARPA Board is receiving suggestions from groups, organizations and town departments for use of the <br />funds. Fund is $7.5 million dollars must be expended by 2023 <br />• Mark emphasized that the COA needs to provide input for Reading senior citizen population. He <br />suggested: (1) money for the feasibility study (one estimate is $150K), (2) Funds for programs and <br />space due to increased interest and need. <br />• Needs to be submitted to ARPA committee by next week. Kevin prefers request to go through his <br />department and will set up a meeting with Marilyn. <br />
