"RE'C'EIVED <br />• <br />Town Meeting <br />mute TOWN CLERK <br />Meeting Minutes READING, fFiA. <br />T -IC- <br />2023 JAN -9 AH H: : 27 <br />Board —Committee - Commission — Council: <br />Date: 2022-02-07 Time: 6:30pm <br />Purpose: Council on Aging <br />Location: Zoom Meeting <br />Members Present: Jackie Behenna/here, Joan Coco/here Karen Fotino/yes, John Parsons/here, Karen <br />Pinnette/here, Sandy Shafer/here, Marilyn Shapleigh/here, Nancy Ziemlak/here, <br />Members Not Present: Sally Hoyt/not here, Debbie Small/not here, Barbara Carney/not here, Jolyn Ek/not <br />here <br />Others Present: Amy O'Brien, EHS Director/Mark Dockser, Select Board Liaison <br />Minutes Respectfully Submitted by: Nancy Ziemlak <br />Meeting Called to Order at 6:35 <br />Motion made to accept minutes from December 22: all members voted in favor to accept minutes <br />with note to correct punctuation and capitalization. <br />Motion made to accept minutes from the January 22 meeting all members present voted in favor <br />EHS Update AMY <br />• Jean Delios and Kevin Brohmiller will be meeting with consultant to talk about the outreach flyer and <br />strategize the best way for it to be part of the overall public outreach in conjunction with the ReCalc. <br />• PSC training a new receptionist her name is Eileen Mack <br />• Scheduled Drive by next week for Valentine's Day, 2/15 1-2pm. New Town Manager, Fidel Maltez, <br />visited the center to tour and meet staff. Also, PSC will be hosting a coffee hour to welcome him to <br />Reading. A tent will be set up on the patio again in late March early April. Tin bucket event to be <br />rescheduled to late March 3/23 or 30 for a painting event. My Senior Center training was done on <br />Monday 10-3 for all staff. Will be producing reports soon. <br />ReCalc Meeting Discussion <br />Attendees generated several ideas to provide feedback to ReCalc beginning with the list generated by the <br />Committee. It was noted that most of the items on the list show up in past survey's etc. Suggestions included: <br />o room that's set up like a movie theater <br />o space to sell gently used items to raise money for programs. In Lynnfield, this run by the Friends of <br />COA <br />o increased use of virtual reality equipment it's becoming more and more of a technology that is being <br />explored for benefits it has for seniors <br />o waiting reception area <br />o bathrooms on every floor <br />o room set up for activities without the staff having to set up furniture <br />o a library resource room <br />Februrary 7, 2022 Council on Aging Page 1 of 4 <br />
