VA shared that owners
emailed to state that they could not go along with our suggestions, including changing the
color of the yellow brick to red. CPDC insisted on the dentil molding and red brick. Owners
did agree to keep samples of historic attributes on site. An order of conditions was signed at
that meeting.
25 Haven St - was also discussed at the CPDC meeting and VA shared that RHC was
disappointed that the current design did not include any of the historic attributes as we
suggested. There was no mention at the CPDC meeting of JEB's email to Town staff for that
meeting, objecting to the failure of the current design to retain the existing historical building
facade. Nor was there any mention of CPDC's own design guidelines which provide that
existing building facades of historically protected buildings be incorporated into new
construction wherever feasible, and that such buildings can be changed only with RHC
approval. This building may just be demolished. The developers current design has been
decreased in size.
