MINUTES OF THE READING RETIREMENT BOARD MEETING <br /> Wednesday October 9, 2019 <br /> The Reading Retirement Board held a special session meeting on October 9, 2019 in The Berger <br /> Conference Room at Reading Town Hall, 16 Lowell Street, Reading, Massachusetts. <br /> The meeting was called to order at 6:30 P.M. by Chairman Thomas Clough in the presence of members <br /> Sharon Angstrom, David Gentile, Carol Roberts, and Board Administrator Colleen Loughlin. Joseph <br /> Coughlin was not able to attend. <br /> SPECIAL ITEM <br /> • Carol Roberts recused herself from commenting on the COLA base increase as her disclosure has not <br /> been approved yet by the Select Board. <br /> • Sharon Angstrom compiled information to make a presentation to FIN COM regarding the increase in <br /> the COLA base from $12,000 to $14,000. The material was emailed to the Board for review prior to <br /> the meeting. Tom Clough provided a few key points to add. Sharon also pointed out that the <br /> presentation was also sent in advance to FBQCOM so they will be prepared for the meeting. <br /> INFORMATION/QUESTIONS <br /> • Sharon Angstrom forwarded a letter from Town Counsel that provided their opinion regarding some <br /> topic items that were in question. The letter was forwarded to Attorney Sacco who then forwarded to <br /> the legal department at PERAC to expedite a response. <br /> • Sharon Angstrom left the meeting at 7:00 pm. <br /> • The Board will adjourn to attend the FINCOM meeting to hear the COLA base increase presentation <br /> prepared by Sharon Angstrom. <br /> • The next regular board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at 5:00 pm in the <br /> Conference Room at 2 Haven Street, Unit 307, Reading, MA. <br /> MEMORANDUMS & LETTERS RECEIVED <br /> Town Counsel letter dated October 9, 2019 regarding Managerial Questions Regarding the Retirement <br /> Board. <br /> OLD & NEW BUSINESS <br />
