MASS. <br /> may' Community Meeting 2001 eca Jn et7 iaot <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Ms. Cavicchi called the meeting to order at 7:35 a.m. at the YMCA Present were School <br /> Committee Members Cavicchi, Dahl, Griset, Keigley and Russo and Superintendent <br /> I{arutunian. Also in attendance were two members of the public. <br /> OPEN DISCUSSION <br /> The Committee discussed the first community meeting held on June 6" and stated that <br /> they were pleased with the citizen turnout. <br /> Dr. Harutunian,Mr. Griset and Mr. Russo left the meeting for approximately five <br /> minutes. <br /> Dr. Harutunian discussed his conversation with Senator Tisei regarding Chapter 70 funds <br /> for the Town of Reading. Ile stated that over burden aid is not included in the new <br /> formula. <br /> Mr. Tom Ryan stated that Reading is roughly 91% residential and has a very small <br /> business base. <br /> The Committee discussed the need for development of Camp Curtis if the state turns the <br /> area over to the Town. <br /> Mr. Russo stated his concerns over increased pollution and traffic if the arca is <br /> developed. <br /> The Committee discussed the need to increase revenue in the town in order to maintain <br /> services and the need for an economic development committee in town. <br /> The Committee discussed ways to better connect with the community. <br /> At 8:30 a.m. Dr. Harutunian left the meeting. <br /> ADJOURN <br /> At 5:45 Mr. Dahl made a motion to ad iourn. Mr. Keiglev seconded the motion The <br /> vote was 5-0 Ms. Cavicchi, Mr. Dahl, Mr. Griset, Mr. Keiglev and Mr. Russo. <br /> ect idly ed, <br /> arry .
