U E j TC,WN' CLERK READi lir -M.i Board - committee - commission - Council: All OCT 22 AM 11: 21 Cultural Council Date: 2018-01-18 Time: 7:00 PM Building: Pleasant Street Senior Center Location: Arts and Crafts Room Address: 64 Middlesex Avenue Purpose: Business Session: Attendees: Members - Present: Donna Schenkel, Nancy Ziemlak, Jane Soloway, Nora Bucko, Rosemary Lewis Members - Not Present: Mary Ann Koslowski, Beth Mosier Others Present: Minutes Respectfully Submitted By: Rosemary Lewis Topics of Discussion: The meeting was called to order by Donna Schenkel at 7:00 pm in the Arts and Crafts Room of the Senior Center. Minutes were reviewed and approved by all. The Annual Report was completed by Jane and Donna. Jane received notification from the town that the money for grants is in our account. There are still 2 outstanding grants to be paid from the last grant cycle. Donna is waiting for any possible letters of reconsideration before mailing out the award letters. Mary Ann will send out a press release about the grants. The May Community Reception was discussed and the following action items were decided: Nancy will prepare the invitation which will be emailed. Date was proposed as May 14, 2018 from 7-8:30 at the Senior Center. Donna will reserve the room. We will invite State Representative Jason Lewis and the MCC representative to speak if they are available. Refreshments will be served. Nancy will prepare a powerpoint presentation and send a press release to our email database. She will also contact various businesses in town to see if there is interest in sponsoring the reception. Discussion turned to recruitment for new members. Nora will bring up the idea to Arts Reading group. The meeting adjourned at 7:45pm.
