NOV -8 PM 1: 13 <br /> Cultural Council <br /> Date: 2018-09-17 Time: 7:00 PM <br /> Building: Pleasant Street Senior Center Location: Arts and Crafts Room <br /> Address: 49 Pleasant Street <br /> Purpose: Business Session: <br /> Attendees: Members - Present: <br /> Donna Schenkel, Nancy Ziemlak, Nora Bucko, Mary Ann Kozlowski, Jane <br /> Soloway, Megan Fidler-Carey, Brian Kimerer <br /> Members - Not Present: <br /> Rosemary Lewis <br /> Others Present: <br /> Minutes Respectfully Submitted By: Nancy Ziemlak <br /> Topics of Discussion: <br /> The meeting was called to order by Donna Schenkel at 7:00 pm in the Community Room of <br /> the Senior Center. <br /> Welcomed new member Brian Kimerer. <br /> Secretary minutes were reviewed and approved by all. <br /> Treasurer presented report. There is $2,342.04 remaining in RCC account of which $564 is <br /> administrative funds and interest, $1,777.29 remains to be paid to Creative Arts, Delvina, <br /> and QP. <br /> Megan Fidler-Carey left meeting at 7:15pm to attend Reading Education Foundation Board <br /> meeting. She would Inform the Reading Embraces Diversity group members of the October <br /> 15 grant deadline. <br /> MCC allocation for 2019 is $7,400. Jane will meet with Sharon at Town Hall to complete <br /> forms. <br /> Member list was distributed for review and updated accordingly <br /> Brief discussion on ArtsReading question about applying for a grant to cover money spent <br /> on registering for non-profit status. It was agreed that this was not within the guidelines <br /> but suggested that Nora suggest that a grant to support the ArtReading Day would be <br /> appropriate. <br /> Publicity included: <br /> Donna submitted ad to Your Community Connection for the summer, to the library for their <br /> digital sign in September/October, the Reading Cable station and the Reading Post which <br /> was published. The RCC grant sign on the common will be up on October 1. <br /> Mary Ann wrote up press release and distributed. <br />
