NOV -8 PM 1: 13 Cultural Council Date: 2018-09-17 Time: 7:00 PM Building: Pleasant Street Senior Center Location: Arts and Crafts Room Address: 49 Pleasant Street Purpose: Business Session: Attendees: Members - Present: Donna Schenkel, Nancy Ziemlak, Nora Bucko, Mary Ann Kozlowski, Jane Soloway, Megan Fidler-Carey, Brian Kimerer Members - Not Present: Rosemary Lewis Others Present: Minutes Respectfully Submitted By: Nancy Ziemlak Topics of Discussion: The meeting was called to order by Donna Schenkel at 7:00 pm in the Community Room of the Senior Center. Welcomed new member Brian Kimerer. Secretary minutes were reviewed and approved by all. Treasurer presented report. There is $2,342.04 remaining in RCC account of which $564 is administrative funds and interest, $1,777.29 remains to be paid to Creative Arts, Delvina, and QP. Megan Fidler-Carey left meeting at 7:15pm to attend Reading Education Foundation Board meeting. She would Inform the Reading Embraces Diversity group members of the October 15 grant deadline. MCC allocation for 2019 is $7,400. Jane will meet with Sharon at Town Hall to complete forms. Member list was distributed for review and updated accordingly Brief discussion on ArtsReading question about applying for a grant to cover money spent on registering for non-profit status. It was agreed that this was not within the guidelines but suggested that Nora suggest that a grant to support the ArtReading Day would be appropriate. Publicity included: Donna submitted ad to Your Community Connection for the summer, to the library for their digital sign in September/October, the Reading Cable station and the Reading Post which was published. The RCC grant sign on the common will be up on October 1. Mary Ann wrote up press release and distributed.
