She is also a Reading <br /> resident and has been involved with the Reading Education Foundation. <br /> Mrs. Webb moved, seconded by Mrs. Borawski, to approve the <br /> Superintendent's recommendation of Christine Kelley as the next Assistant <br /> Superintendent of Learning and Teaching. <br /> Mrs. Borawski appreciated the thorough and thoughtful process. <br /> Chair Robinson said the open microphone session was helpful in seeing the whole <br /> candidate. <br /> Dr. Vanden Akker asked if Mrs. Wilson was involved in the process. Dr. Doherty <br /> said she was on the screening committee and participated in the site visit with the <br /> elementary principals. <br /> Dr. Snow Dockser also appreciated the thorough and thoughtful process and is <br /> happy with the decision. <br /> Dr. Doherty shared that he received a significant amount of feedback from staff <br /> and community members. <br /> Mr. Boivin feels Mrs. Kelley has experience to meet our needs and asked how this <br /> experience will transition. <br /> Dr. Doherty said Mrs. Kelley had implemented Writer's Workshop and has done <br /> similar work in math. As the principal at the Lynch School in Winchester she was <br /> able to move this school from an underperforming school to a successfully <br /> performing school. <br /> Mrs. Webb is excited and looks forward to the district continuing to move <br /> forward. <br /> The motion carried 6-0. <br /> Mrs. Webb moved, seconded by Mrs. Borawski, to enter into executive <br /> session to conduct strategy with respect to contract negotiations for non- <br /> represented personnel and not to return to open session. The roll call vote <br /> carried 6-0. Mr. Boivin,Dr. Vanden Akker, Mrs.Webb, Dr. Snow Dockser, <br /> Mrs. Borawski and Mr. Robinson. <br /> The meeting adjourned at 6:16 p.m. <br /> IJ.
