MASS. <br />Monday, July 25, 2011 2011 SEP 20 P 12-- 52 <br />Present: <br />David Hutchinson, Chair; Richard Curtis, Vice Chair; Jeffrey Doucette; Karyn Storti; Vicki Yablonsky; <br />Ruth Urell, Director; Dorota Socha, Assistant Director; Kathryn Melesciuc, Recording Secretary. <br />Absent: <br />Cherrie Dubois. <br />Meeting called to order: 7:06 p.m. <br />June 20, 11 Minutes approved unanimously. (V. Yablonsky/J. Doucette) <br />Financial Report (R. Urell) <br />• Donations funds discussion: most are earmarked for specific purposes, e.g., allocated for digitizing <br />programs, grants and trusts, i.e., Celebration Trust, Let's Talk About It, health grant. <br />Trustee Liaison's Reports <br />Foundation (R. Curtis) <br />Foundation may be able to help with public relations funding and outreach regarding building program <br />campaign. <br />Friends (C. Dubois) <br />•Nothing to report. <br />Building Program Discussion <br />• The Trustees want to publicly thank Director R. Urell for her tremendous effort and work on the <br />building grant for getting Reading Public Library on the top of the waiting list; <br />• R. Urell received letter from Rob Maier, Director of M.B.L.C. will meet in September with <br />libraries on waiting list; <br />• Building Grant approved - just waiting for state funding to be released — process to build support <br />with community and legislature to shake out capital funding; <br />• V. Yablonsky stated concern regarding clarification of Building Committee's role in public <br />outreach building committee; <br />• K. Storti identified categories and some possible community members for the public outreach <br />committee who would be great for the campaign. <br />Director's Report <br />• Save the Date postcards were mailed out announcing the Library Legislative Breakfast to be held <br />in Reading on Friday, October 21 from 8 — 9 am. Senator Katharine Clark is the featured speaker; <br />• Envisionware printing rolling out September 1 st. The new printing system allows patrons to view <br />their printing job, pay using coin machines and pick up their own documents. The program has <br />been installed on all public computers; <br />• Frank Fardy announced his retirement from the Finance Committee and as the Library Trustee <br />liaison — he will be missed; <br />
