EXECUTIVE SESSION MEETING OF THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br /> September 22 , 1986 <br /> The Board of Selectmen convened in Executive Session on September 22 , <br /> 1986 at 9 : 00 p.m. All members of the Board of Selectmen were present <br /> along with Town Manager, Peter I. Hechenbleikner and Director of Public <br /> Works, Anthony V. Fletcher. <br /> It was moved, seconded, and voted 4 : 0 , with Chairman Paul E. Landers <br /> abstaining, to approve the Executive Session minutes of the September 8 , <br /> and September 15 , 1986 meetings. <br /> Under discussion of the possible use of the Reading Water Tower by <br /> Continental Cablevision, the Board of Selectmen stated they were <br /> agreeable to the concept. <br /> Continental Cablevision asked the Town of Reading for a ten year <br /> lease with 24 hour access to the facilities. The basic costs, of <br /> the relocation were mentioned at approximately $230 ,000 to $250 ,000 . <br /> The Selectmen were concerned with the possible cost to the Town <br /> and also if the relocation estimates included any new equipment. <br /> They asked Continental Cablevision to note any operational advantages <br /> that may save dollars. A representative from Cablevision predicted <br /> the cost divided by 5,100 subscribers to be between 65� and 67� per <br /> month. It was noted that the extended basic monthly rate is now <br /> $9 .95. <br /> The next order of business covered in Executive Session was <br /> discussion of a decision by the Board of Appeals effecting <br /> Jack Rivers/Bond Realty's purchase of the Community Center. In a <br /> lengthy discussion between Jack Rivers and members of the board, <br /> Mr. Rivers explained why it was no longer feasable for him to go <br /> ahead with his purchase of the town property.
