Present were Chairman Dan Ensminger,
Vice Chairman George Hines, Secretary Sally Hoyt, Selectmen Bill
Burditt and Eugene Nigro, and Town Manager Peter Hechenbleikner.
On motion by Nigro seconded by Burditt, the Minutes of 11/15/92
are approved by a vote of 5-0-0.
The Town Manager indicated that Dolbin and Company are interested
in bidding for the development of the Bear Hill property. The
Board directed the Town Manager to revise the RFP and get it to
them as soon as possible for their approval.
The Board reviewed the situation with regard to the landfill.
Homart is very interested in moving ahead with securing possible
commercial tenants. The discussion of whether or not we could
hire a broker, there was a discussion of the state requirement
for closure. There was a discussion of the comparable market for
sites and whether use for retail purposes would command a higher
price. If not a higher price then what else could we get the
developer to do in terms of site improvements. The Town Manager
will try to meet with Biotech representatives from the state to
clarify the potential market for Biotech uses on that property.
Town Manager reviewed the status of the DPW and Engineering/Water
Treatment Plant negations. He felt that the Engineering/Water
Treatment Plant mediation process was fairly near to completion.
He also indicated that the DPW contract was going to mediation.
On Motion by Burditt seconded by Hines the Board voted to adjourn
the meeting at 12 : 05 a.m. All five members present voted in the
affirmative and the motion to adjourn was approved.
Respectfully Submitted,
ecret ry
