Board of Selectmen Meeting
Executive Session
February 15, 1994
The Board convened in Executive Session at 7 : 33 p.m. Present
were Chairman George Hines, Secretary Sally Hoyt, Selectmen Dan
Ensminger and Bill Burditt, Town Counsel H Theodore Cohen, Town
Manager Peter Hechenbleikner.
Sale of Real Estate
Town Counsel reviewed the Purchase and Sales Agreement and the
Board agreed that it was appropriate as submitted. At 8: 04 p.m. ,
Chairman of the Housing Authority Bill McIsaac, Executive - Direc-
tor Peg Plansky and Attorney John Greco met with the Board in Ex-
ecutive Session. They were discussing the Pearl Street School
Purchase and Sales Agreement. The Housing Authority members sug-
gested a change in the language in a draft Purchase and Sales
Agreement. George Hines indicated that the Board was not -dis-
posed to change the language. The Board felt that the language
as drafted addresses the issues raised by the Housing Authority
the last time they met. Bill McIsaac asked who has onsite con-
trol - he felt that the buyer has a wedge. Hines noted that the
Housing Authority advice is being relied upon. Greco asked about
changing language to require diligent efforts and Cohen felt that
the language as proposed is stronger and is a higher standard.
Ed Levit and Bill Casper from Longwood Management came into the
meeting as the Housing Authorities representatives left. The
Board indicated that they are happy with the Purchase and Sales
Agreement as drafted and it will be their intention to approve it
in open session. Longwood agreed.
On motion by Burditt seconded by Ensminger the Board of Selectmen
voted to adjourn the Executive Session until immediately follow-
ing the business of the regular session. All fours members
present voted in the affirmative and this session was adjourned
at 8:26 p.m.
The Board of Selectmen reconvened at 11: 07 p.m. Present were
Chairman George Hines, Secretary Sally Hoyt, Selectmen Dan
Ensminger and Bill Burditt , and Town Manager Peter
Hechenbleikner.
Approval of Minutes
On motion by Burditt seconded by Hoyt the minutes of January 25,
1994 were approved as written by a vote of 4-0-0.
The Town Manager reviewed the status of Superior Officers nego-
tiations. The Board of Selectmen felt that that package as cur-
rently agreed to is appropriate and the Board indicated that
while there may be some support for specialist pay for Lt. Detec-
tive and the EMT stipend, that these items should wait for nego-
tiations of a future contract.
