Board of Selectmen Meeting
Executive Session
April 28, 1998
The Executive Session convened at 10:08 p.m. in the Selectmen's Meeting Room, 16 Lowell
Street, Reading, Massachusetts. Present were Chairman Camille Anthony, Vice Chairman Bruce
MacDonald, Secretary Sally Hoyt, Selectman George Hines, Town Manager Peter
Hechenbleikner.
Litigation
The Town Manager reviewed Brad Latham's letter regarding settlement of the Summit Village
issues. The Board agreed in concept, and also suggested that the park improvements in the
amount of$15,000 was not sufficient to do the entire park project and that part of the $105,000
due to the Town might go to supplement the $15,000 to get the complete job of park
improvements done.
On motion by Hines seconded by MacDonald, the Board of Selectmen approved the concept of
settlement with Summit Village pursuant to Latham's letter of 4/21/98 on a roll call vote with all
four members voting in the affirmative.
Approval of Minutes
On motion by Hines seconded by Hoyt, the Board voted to approve the Executive Session
minutes of December 16, 1997 on a roll call vote with Hoyt, MacDonald and Anthony voting in
the affirmative and Hines abstaining.
On motion by MacDonald seconded by Hoyt, the Board voted to approve the Executive Session
minutes of January 12, 1998 on a roll call vote with Hoyt, MacDonald and Anthony voting in the
affirmative and Hines abstaining.
On motion by MacDonald seconded by Hines, the Board of Selectmen voted to adjourn their
meeting of April 28, 1998 at 10:30 p.m. on a roll call vote with all four members voting in the
affirmative.
Respectfully submitted,
Xecretar
