Board of Selectmen Meeting <br /> Executive Session <br /> April 7, 1998 <br /> The meeting was convened at 7:01 p.m. in the Selectmen's Meeting Room, 16 Lowell Street, <br /> Reading, Massachusetts. Present were Vice Chairman Bruce MacDonald, Secretary Sally Hoyt, <br /> Selectmen George Hines and Matthew Nestor, Town Counsel H Theodore Cohen, Town <br /> Manager Peter I. Hechenbleikner. <br /> Litigation —Homart <br /> Town Counsel updated the Board on the Homart litigation. <br /> On motion by Hines seconded by Hoyt, the Board of Selectmen authorized Town Counsel H <br /> Theodore Cohen to accept no less than $80,000 in the settlement with Homart. On a roll call <br /> vote, all four members voted in the affirmative. <br /> Landfill <br /> It was noted that two responses were received to the RFP. Procedure was not followed by the <br /> developers. Each made widely different changes to the bids. The Town is in danger of being <br /> challenged. Town Counsel recommended rejecting both bids and going back out to bid again. <br /> On motion by Hines seconded by Hoyt, the Board voted to adjourn the Executive Session of <br /> April 7, 1998 at 7:30 p.m. On a roll call vote, all four members voted in the affirmative and the <br /> meeting was adjourned. <br /> Res ctful s bmitted, <br /> ecretary <br />
