Board of Selectmen Meeting
Executive Session
May 25, 1999
The Executive Session convened at 7:30 p.m. in the Conference Room, 16 Lowell Street,
Reading, Massachusetts. Present were Chairman Sally Hoyt, Secretary Matthew_ Nestor,
Selectmen Camille Anthony and George Hines, Town Manager Peter Hechenbleikner, Assistant
Town Manager Russell Dean and Paula Schena.
Sale of Real Estate
Corporex - The Town Manager noted that there are still a couple of outstanding issues. The
major issue is that Corporex wants to be eliminated of liability after the capping and
development of the three buildings. The Town says "no". The Letter of Intent notes that the
Town has the ability to confirm the viability of the subleases, and Corporex wants that taken out.
Corporex wants April, 2000 as a drop dead date and the Town says "no" -- December 1, 1999 is
a firm date.
George Hines noted Corporex is continually raising new issues. He suggested that the Board
send a letter outlining the remaining issues and give a firm deadline for approval.
Camille Anthony asked if offsite improvements were an issue. The Town Manager noted that
the Town has outlined the possible offsite issues and Corporex has agreed to the exhibit.
On motion by Anthony seconded by Hines, the Board voted to adjourn the Executive Session of
May 25, 1999 at 8:00 p.m. On a roll call vote, all four members voted in the affirmative and the
motion was carried.
Respectfully submitted,
Secretryi
