Board of Selectmen Meeting
Executive Session
March 16, 1999
The Executive Session convened at 7:00 p.m. in the Conference Room, 16 Lowell Street,
Reading, Massachusetts. Present were Chairman Bruce MacDonald, Vice Chairman Sally Hoyt,
Secretary Matthew Nestor, Selectman Camille Anthony, Town Manager Peter Hechenbleikner,
Assistant Town Manager Russell Dean, Town Counsel H Theodore Cohen, and Paula Schena.
Discussion/Action Items
Sale of Real Estate- The Town Manager reviewed the Letter of Intent.
Camille Anthony referenced the first paragraph on page 8 where it states, "The Town agrees to
cooperate with Corporex in connection with any attempt by Corporex to have DEP reduce the
time period of its monitoring obligation." She felt the Town was "boxed in" by agreeing with
any attempt. Town Counsel noted the wording could be changed to "...in connection with any
reasonable attempt..."
Camille Anthony asked how will the leasee know what is expected of them. Town Counsel
noted there will be a lease on record. Camille Anthony noted that someone or a department has
to be the owner of the records. The Town Manager noted that the Town Clerk is the keeper of
the records.
On motion by Hoyt seconded by Anthony, the Board voted to adjourn the Executive Session of
March 16, 1999 at 7:28 p.m. On a roll call vote, all four members voted in the affirmative and
the motion was carried.
Res e Gully§ubmitted,
J sv `/ r
/ m x
c taryj
