Town of Reading Meeting Minutes <br />Board - Committee - Commission - Council: <br />RECEIVED <br />TOWN CLERK <br />READING, MASS. <br />Human Relations Advisory Committee 101` NOV -y p h 381 <br />Date: 2016-10-06 Time: 7:00 PM <br />Building: Reading Police Station Location: Community Room <br />Address: 15 Union Street <br />Purpose: Meeting Session: <br />Attendees: Members - Present: <br />David Clark, Linda Snow Dockser, Heather Mclean, Kyung Yu <br />Members - Not Present: <br />Seema Lynch, Lynn Dornink, Lori Hodin <br />Others Present: <br />Ruthie Wilson, Christine Hansen, Jess Squires, Susan Peter, David Maroney <br />Minutes Respectfully Submitted By: Heather McLean on behalf of Lynn Dornink <br />Topics of Discussion: <br />Meeting called to order by Heather McLean. <br />Street Faire was discussed: went successfully, new member interested in joining, Linda <br />to meet them this coming week. 20+ new email subscribers added during faire. <br />Update on student proposal for Library programs: Most likely timing will be spring after <br />MLK day; spotlight article to be done on this, should be published 2-3 weeks before <br />event, will need —6 weeks lead time. Ruthie taking lead on this with Jess. <br />No update on senior video project; Christine and Jess to solidify question by end of next <br />week (w/o 10/10) <br />Update on meeting with Clergy Council: Very supportive of the HRAC; they will send our <br />survey out to their congregations, and also write letters of support for our efforts in <br />transitioning to a commission organizational model <br />MLK Celebration Discussion: <br />• October 11d' deadline for Community Connection — Heather to send info for a <br />"save -the -date" to Maureen Knight <br />• Vote for "Liberty and Justice for All!" as the theme: Heather moved, Linda 2nd, <br />in favor <br />• Work to continue on outreach to various groups to get commitments for <br />performers and groups that will participate <br />Minutes approved for 9!7 meeting: Kyung moved, Linda 2nd, 4 in favor <br />Meeting adjourned: Linda moved, Kyung 2"d, 4 in favor <br />Page I 1 <br />
