Town of Reading <br />r Meeting Minutes RECEIVED 0 <br />a�.,.,aar TDWN CLERK <br />Board -Committee -Commission - Council: <br />READING, MASS. <br />Cultural Council <br />Date: 2016-07-25 <br />Building: Pleasant Street Senior Center <br />Address: 49 Pleasant Street <br />Purpose: Business <br />Attendees: Members - Present: <br />1016 OCT 11 A 11= 831 <br />Time: 6:30 PM <br />Location: Lounge Room <br />Session: <br />Nora Bucko, Mary Ann Kozlowski, Nancy Ziemlak, Donna Schenkel, Jane <br />Soloway, Rosemary Lewis <br />Members - Not Present: <br />Julie Barber <br />Others Present: <br />Minutes Respectfully Submitted By: Rosemary Lewis <br />Topics of Discussion: <br />The meeting was called to order by Donna Schenkel at 6:30 pm In the Conference Room of the <br />Pleasant Street Senior Center. <br />Discussion turned Immediately to the topic of the online application process for grants. The following <br />decisions and action Items ensued: <br />We will strongly encourage the use of the electronic applications. <br />For this year only we will accept both paper and electronic applications. <br />Local guidelines and funding priorities were amended by a vote to 1) remove the <br />stipulation that projects that have not received funding in the past 3 years would have <br />priority, and 2) proposals must state a confirmed artist, venue and performance date to be <br />considered. <br />Donna will complete the form and submit the changes to the MCC website and Nancy will <br />make changes on our Town website. <br />Minutes of the previous meeting were approved after one correction. <br />There was no Treasurer's Report. Jane has still not received a statement from the town since <br />February. <br />There was discussion about CreativeGround.org, a forum for consolidation of information about arts <br />groups In Massachusetts, which sent us an email inviting us to update our profile. It was decided to <br />simply provide a brief statement with a link to Arts Reading. <br />Julie Barber has submitted her resignation from the council. Jane will Invite Beth Mosler to consider <br />applying, as she expressed interest during the May Reception. <br />The meeting adjourned at 7:38 pm. <br />Page I 1 <br />
