READING HOUSING AUTHORITY <br />Minutes of the Meeting of March 24, 1987 <br />The Reading Housing Authority met in regular session on Tuesday, Mar& <br />24, 1987 at 7:30 P.M. at 22 Frank D. Tanner Drive. Notice of this meeeti <br />had been properly posted in accordance with the Open Meeting Law. <br />Chairman Dempster called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. with Ms. <br />Swain, Mr. Mclsaac, Mr. Westra, and Mr. White in attendance and forming a <br />quorum. The Executive Director, Ms. Plansky, was also present. There <br />were approximately ten (10) citizens from Woburn Street area also present <br />The Chairman gave a brief background regarding the process that the <br />Housing Authority had taken in meeting and discussing the possible reulse <br />of the lower school of the St. Agnes' Church /Roman Catholic Archdiocese <br />of Boston. A question and answer format was presented to each attend ;e <br />for their review and information, and is herewith attached as part of the <br />record. <br />The neighbors in general were in agreement with the proposed <br />elderly /handicapped reuse, with the possibility of Meal Site and Council n <br />Aging offices, if required. The Board asked that the neighbors send letters <br />of support to the Reading Chronicle, Board of Selectmen and /or Town <br />Meeting members asking for their support of Article 35 on the 1987 Ann al <br />Town Meeting Warrant. <br />The Board will be arranging a meeting with the Council on Aging seekin <br />their support and later this evening will be meeting with the Board of <br />Selectmen to present this proposal and ask for the Selectmen's support at <br />Town Meeting. <br />At 8:30 P.M., the Board thanked the residents for attending the meeting, <br />asked for their support and continued discussion on matters of other <br />business before the Board. <br />0 <br />
