READING HOUSING AUTHORITY <br />Minutes of the Meeting of February 13, 1989 <br />A regular business meeting of the members of the Reading Housing Authority <br />was held on February 13, 1989 at the office of the Authority, 22 Frank <br />D. Tanner Drive in the Town of Reading, Massachusetts. The meeting <br />was called to order at 7:30 P.M. Richard S. Dempster, the Chairman, <br />presided. Other members present and forming a quorum were: Arthu J. <br />Reynolds, William E. Mclsaac, Jean H. Galvin and Rev. Robert Swee . <br />The Executive Director, Margaret K. Plansky, was also present at he <br />meeting. <br />The Board members welcomed the newly appointed member, Robert K. Sweet, <br />to the Board. The Chairman and Board members also welcomed three <br />interested developers in connection with the Bear Hill site: 2 from <br />Corporate Crossing; 1 from Lincoln Properties. <br />Housing Programs <br />The Board generally reviewed the programs currently operated by the <br />Authority and presented each person with a handout of the available <br />programs under the State housing production program. Board also <br />reviewed the current assessment for affordable housing in the <br />community. The concern for the Authority was that the cost of <br />housing in the community was so high that employees that serve th <br />town can no longer afford to live in the community. No specific <br />program or goal was mentioned, but on -site and off -site linkage <br />was discussed. <br />Greenhouse Acres - Jim David from Fafard Corporation presented the <br />current progress on the linkage proposals for both Greenhouse and <br />Schoolhouse properties. The site off Franklin Street near Marsha 1's <br />was also reviewed for the possibility of developing 8 -10 family units <br />and 4 elderly units. The Board thanked Mr. David and asked him to <br />keep the Director informed of his progress. <br />Selectmen's Meeting - Board reviewed meeting with Selectmen regar ing <br />appointments to Fair Housing Committee, Mass. Housing Partnership <br />Committee and also review the proposals for Bear Hill site as regards <br />linkage. At that meeting, Chairman Dempster suggested that the <br />Chairman of his /her designee be appointed to these committees. <br />Minutes <br />The Board reviewed the minutes of the meeting of January 11, 1989 and <br />January 24, 1989, which had both been previously distributed. <br />Upon a motion duly made by Mr. McIsaac and seconded by Mr. Reynol s, <br />it was unanimously <br />
