READING HOUSING AUTHORITY <br />Minutes of the Meeting of December 27, 1993 <br />A regular business meeting of the members of the Reading Housing <br />Authority was held on Monday, December 27, 1993 at 7:30 P.M. <br />at the office of the Authority, 22 Frank D. Tanner Drive in th <br />Townof Reading, Massachusetts. The meeting was called to orde <br />by the Chairman, Mr. McIsaac. Those members present and formi g <br />a quorum were: Mr. Sweet, Mr. Allen and Mr. Reynolds. The Ex cutive <br />Director, Ms. Plansky, and the Authority's attorney, Mr. Greco, <br />were also in attendance. <br />Finances <br />Upon a motion duly made by Mr. Allen and seconded by Mr. Reynolds, <br />it was unanimously <br />VOTED: To approve and sign the checkroll /billroll for the period <br />from Check #1288 -1301 inclusive. <br />The Chairman then declared said motion carried and said vote <br />in effect. <br />Insurance - 173 -177 Main Street <br />Upon a motion duly made by Mr. Sweet and seconded by Mr. Reynolds, <br />it was unanimously <br />VOTED: To approve the acquisition for BOP policy for the newl: <br />acquired property at 173 - 175 -177 Main Street, with a deductible <br />of $500 and limits of $1M each occurence; $1M aggregate; $5000 <br />medical any 1 person at a cost of $1118.00 per year. <br />The Chairman then declared said motion carried and said vote <br />in effect. <br />Pearl Street School Reuse <br />Upon a motion duly made by Mr. Sweet and seconded by Mr. Allen, <br />it was unanimously <br />VOTED: To send a letter to the Board of Selectmen stating the <br />position of the Authority that according to the Town's Zoning <br />By -laws, 10% of units at Pearl Street must be set -aside for low- <br />income households in a manner satisfactory to the RHA; to include <br />a financial analysis comparing 20% for GAFC low- income vs. 10% <br />(7 units) for GAFC and 10% (6 units) for tenant -based Section <br />8; stating that the RHA proposal would insure access to Readin <br />residents who would not otherwise qualify. The letter should gi <br />also contain some suggestions for additional help from the Town, <br />e.g. - continuation of Meals on Wheels for qualified residents; <br />entertainment from local groups; assistance from the Hospital <br />Trust Fund for ambulances, etc. This letter should also request <br />a meeting with the Board of Selectmen at the next available me tin <br />in order to discuss this matter further. <br />
