READING HOUSING AUTHORITY <br />December 14, 1981 <br />(W The Reading Housing Authority met in regular session on Monday, Decembe <br />14, 1981 at 700 P.M. at 22 Frank D. Tanner Drive in the Town of Reading, <br />Massachusetts. Notice of this meeting was properly posted in accordance with <br />the By -Laws. <br />The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Mr. Dempster. Those me <br />bers also present were Mr. Westra and Mr. Rand, forming a quorum. Mrs. Pierce, <br />the Executive Director, was also present. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Westra and seconded by Mr. Rand, it was <br />VOTEDs To accept for the records the Minutes of the regular meeting h <br />November-=0, 1981, copies of which had been previously mailed to all members. <br />The Chairman thereupon declared said motion carried and said vote in effect. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Westra and seconded by Mr. Rand, it was <br />VOTEDs To approve and pay checks and bills in the amount of $10,884.34 for <br />667 -C, ZT7866.66 for Section 8. A list of these checks is attached hereto an <br />made a part of these Minutes. <br />The Chairman thereupon declared said motion carried and said vote in effect, <br />the checks were signed. <br />Mrs. Pierce reported on the financial situation of the Project. As of <br />%ovember 30, 1981, the balance in the BayBank Middlesex checking account was <br />Oil,534-90. With the yment of the above approved checks, this account showed <br />a deficit balance of 1,616.14. The balance in the M.M.D.T. savings account x <br />$26,655.59 plus interest. Mrs. Pierce reported also, that all rents for the <br />month of December, totalling $7,720 were collected. <br />At this time, a motion was made by Mr. Rand and seconded by Mr. Westra, <br />and unanimauslys <br />VOTEDs To withdraw $2,000 from the M.M.D.T. account to pay for the <br />December-riMs, and to approve the Financial Report as read. <br />The Chairman thereupon declared said motion carried and said vote in effect, and <br />Mrs. Pierce drew a check from the M.M.D.T. account for signatures. <br />At this time the subject turned to the Housing Authority's application fo <br />funding under the Low Rent Public Housing Program with H.U.D. Members of the <br />League of Women Voters were present to discuss with the Board, some new developm nts <br />concerning this application. <br />Mrs. Pierce advised that she had been in contact with Jane Johnson from <br />HUD concerning the status of the applications for 40 units of elderly housing <br />and 30 units of acquisition with minor rehabilitation, for families. As:requesi <br />by the Board at the previous meeting, Mrs. Pierce had also had discussions with <br />the Housing Directors of Concord and Wayland concerning their experiences with tY <br />implementation of the Program in their respective Towns. Mrs. Pierce said she t <br />hnson had explained that there were many problems obtaining units, clearing <br />°.finite negative reaction from Concord, but a positive one from Wayland.
