READING HOUSING AUTHORITY <br />Minutes of the Regular Meeting - Nov. 14 1984 <br />The Reading Housing Authority met in re &qlar session on Wednesday. November <br />14, 1984, at 7:30 P.M. at 22 Frank D. Tanner Drive in the Town of Reading, <br />Massachusetts. Notice of this meeting had been properly posted in accordan e <br />with the By -Laws. <br />The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Mr. Dempster. Those 1, <br />members also present were Mrs. Swain and Mr. Rand, forming a quorum. Mrs. <br />Pierce, the Executive Director, was also present. <br />A motion was made by Mr. Rand and seconded by Mrs. Swain, and <br />VOTED: To accept for the record, the Minutes of thh Regular Meeting <br />held October $, 1984 and the Special Meeting of October 29, 1984, copies of <br />which had been previously mailed to all members. <br />The Chairman thereupon declared said motion carried and said vote in effect. <br />Another motion was made by Mr. Rand and seconded by Mrs. Swain, and <br />unanimously: <br />VOTEDs To approve and pay checks and bills for 667 -C in the amount of <br />$9,973.05, and for the Section 8 Program in the amount of $2,690.20, and fot. <br />cwProject 689-1 in the amount of $2,394.46. A list of )these checks is attache <br />hereto and made a part of these Minutes, and was previously bailed to all <br />members. <br />The Chairman thereupon declared said motion carried and said vote in effect. <br />It was reported that the balance in the BayBank Middlesex Checking Acco <br />for 667-0 was $14,068.19 as of October 31, 1984- As of the date of this meeti <br />with payment of all the above -thecks due at this time, the balance was $1,424. <br />It was also reported that the balance in the M.M.D.T. account was $23,771.45 P <br />interest. Also, all rents for the month of November had been paid, totalling <br />$9,117.00. <br />A motion was then made by Mrs. Swain and seconded by Mr. Rand, and <br />unanimously: <br />VOTED: To accept the Financial Report as read. <br />The Chairman thereupon declared said motion carried and said vote in effect. <br />It was announced that E8CD has awarded the Authority an additional 5 <br />scattered -site units under the Chapter 707 Program. An amendment to the pre <br />ACC will be forthcoming. The units were broken down as follows: <br />2- 1 Bedroom 2- 2 Bedroom 1- 3 Bedroom <br />tWSince the rents on the 707 Program are so low for thh rental market in <br />Reading, it has been difficult to sign people up for this Program. Mrs. Pierce <br />said she felt that she should try to have more outreach for prospective tenants <br />and landlords in the Town. Accordingly, she had put a neva item in the Reading <br />Chronicle ".which announced the award and requested landlords and tenants to come <br />forward for assistance if they felt they could be helped through this Program. <br />t <br />0', . <br />lus <br />1. <br />
