READING HOUSING AUTHORITY <br />Minutes of the Regular Meeting - February 14, 1983 <br />The members of the Reading Housing Authority met in regular session on <br />Monday, February 14, 1983 at 7:30 P.M. at 22 Frank D. Tanner Drive in the Town <br />of Reading, Massachusetts. Notice of the meeting had been properly posted in <br />accordance with the By- Laws. <br />Mr. Rand and Mr. Westra were the only members in attendance at this time, <br />but Mr. White was expected to arrive later. Mrs. Pierce, the Executive Director, <br />was also present. <br />Mr. Rand called the meeting to order, and acted as Chairman. He and Mr. <br />Westra attended to the regular order of business - the votes to be ratified later <br />when Mr. White would arrive to form a quorum. <br />Accordingly, a motion was made by Mr. Westra and seconded by Mr. Rand <br />and <br />VOTED: To accept for the record the Minutes of the Regular Meeting <br />of January 10, 1983 and the Emergency Special Meeting of January 31, 1983, <br />copies of which had previously been mailed to all members. <br />The Acting Chairman thereupon declared said motion carried and said vote in effect. <br />Another motion was made by Mr. Westra and seconded by Mr. Rand, and <br />VOTED: To approve the payment of bills for 667 -C in the amount of <br />$14,008.22 and also to ratify the signing of checks for the Section 8 Program. <br />Copies of the list of these checks had been mailed to all members and are <br />attached hereto and made a part of these Minutes. <br />The Acting Chairman thereupon declared said motion carried and said vote in effect. <br />Mrs. Pierce reported to the members that the balance in the BayBank <br />Middlesex Checking Account for 667 -C was $828.24 as of January 31, 1983. As <br />of the date of this meeting after payment of the above checks due at this time, <br />the balance in the above checking account showed a deficit balance of $1,242.64. <br />The balance in the M.M.D.T. savings account was $89,896.92 plus interest. <br />Of this amount, $58,000 is being held for the 689 -1 Program. Mrs. Pierce also <br />reported that all rents for the month of February had been paid, totalling $8,648. <br />At this time, a motion was made by Mr. Westra and seconded by Mr. Rand, <br />and unanimously: <br />VOTED: To ratify the signing of a withdrawal check from the M.M.D.T. <br />account of $2,000 on Feb. 10th, and to also withdraw at this time, an additional <br />$2,000 from this account to cover the balance of the monthly payments; and to <br />accept the Financial Report as read. <br />The Acting Chairman thereupon declared said motion carried and said vote in effect. <br />A letter from the Reading Board of Assessors had been received granting <br />a Real Estate Tax Exemption for the Housing Project for another year, and this <br />was brought to the attention of the Board. <br />0 <br />R <br />
