READING HOUSING AUTHORITY <br />MINUTES OF THE Regular BOARD MEETING, January 4, 201 1 <br />A regular business meeting of the Reading Housing Authority was held on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at <br />5:30 P.M at the office of the Reading Housing Authority the town of Reading, Mass. The meeting was <br />called to order at 5:39 P.M. with the Chair, Diane Cohen, presiding. Those members present and <br />forming a quorum were Timothy Kelley, Kevin Mulvey and Karen L. Flammia well as the <br />Secretary/Executive Director, Lyn Whyte. Mary Connors was absent. <br />Minutes Move Tim Second Karen Vote 4 -0 <br />11.40 VOTED: To accept for the record the Minutes of the Regular Business Meeting of January 4, <br />2011, as presented. <br />Finances Move Tim Second Karen Vote 4 -0 <br />1141 VOTED: To approve and sign the checkroll/billroll for the period for Accounts Payable Check <br />#3160 -3198 Payroll Summary as presented for December, 2010. Section 8 Voucher Program, #5576- <br />5670 as presented. <br />Finances Move Tim Second Karen Vote 4 -0 <br />1142 VOTED: To certify receipt of monthly operating statements for all RHA programs for the month end <br />November, 2010 of the current fiscal year. <br />Personnel Matters: <br />- None at this time <br />Old Business/Report of Programs: <br />Vacancy Report- Mitch Hudzik, State Program Coordinator did not provide her monthly report due to <br />vacation schedule and offices being moved. She did confine that there had been no changes in <br />December for both the elderly development and the family program. RHA will have an available unit <br />in Tannerville by the end of January and our next applicant has been processed to lease up that unit <br />when available. <br />- Sec 8 Report- A report was provided indicating that RHA pulled sixty-six potential applicants from <br />The centralized wait list for fiscal year 2010. Twenty-six applications were returned. Thirty did not <br />respond and only one was returned as undeliverable. Ten vouchers were issued, however only five <br />leased up. The remaining five vouchers expired with no additional response from the applicants. <br />- Resident Service Coordinator- Current Tannerville Newsletter provided. <br />- DHCD returned signed contracts to the RHA regarding our ARRA funding for boilers in our 705 <br />family developments. We are awaiting engineering results before bidding the project. <br />- DHCD returned signed contracts to the RHA for its Capital Funding Award of $181,000 to be <br />distributed over the next three years. The first disbursement of these funds will be due RHA in July <br />2011 in the amount of $38652.00. Plans are underway to utilize these funds in our family <br />w developments. <br />New Business: <br />None at this time. <br />
