READING HOUSING AUTHORITY <br />' MINUTES OF THE Regular BOARD MEETING, March 4, 2013 <br />A regular business meeting of the Reading Housing Authority was held on Monday, March 4, 2013 at <br />5:30 P.M at the office of the Reading Housing Authority the town of Reading, Mass. The meeting was <br />called to order at 5:30 P.M. with the Chair, Kevin Mulvey presiding. Those members present and <br />forming a quorum were Diane Cohen, Timothy J. Kelley and Mary Connors as well as the <br />Secretary/Executive Director, Lyn Whyte. Karen L. Flammia was absent. <br />Minutes Move Diane Second Mary Vote 3-0 <br />13 -048 VOTED: To accept for the record the Minutes of the Regular Business Meeting of February <br />4, 2013, as presented. <br />Finances Move Mary Second Diane Vote 3 -0 <br />13 -049 VOTED: To approve and sign the checkroll/billroll for the period for Accounts Payable <br />Check #44894543 Payroll Summary as presented for February, 2013. Section 8 Voucher <br />Program, #7918 -8006 as presented. <br />Finances Move Mary Second Diane Vote 3-0 <br />13 -050 VOTED: To certify receipt of monthly operating statements for all RHA programs for the <br />month end January, 2013 of the current fiscal year. <br />' Personnel Matters: <br />Confirmation of submittal of Board Attendance to DHCD for February 2013 monthly meeting. <br />Rermrt of Programs: <br />- Vacancy Report- Mitch Hudzik, State Program Coordinator provided her monthly report. All <br />programs are fully leased at this time. <br />- Sec 8 Report- Kathy Rolli, Program Coordinator provided a report indicating that four applicants are <br />eligible to receive vouchers, however, due to impending cuts, RHA may delay any further action at <br />this time. HUD has informed us that we can expect to see immediate reductions in HAP funding and <br />administrative fee funding. RHA staff will monitor the situation carefully and inform Board of any <br />additional changes. <br />- Resident Service Coordinator- Current Tannerville Newsletter provided. <br />- Monthly Work Order/Maintenance Report for February, 2013 was provided to the Board for review. <br />New Business: <br />- RHA has four outstanding insurance claims still in process with the State. Due to administrative <br />changes at DHCD, final approval for payment has been delayed. DHCD will keep us informed of <br />changes as they occur. <br />Request for reimbursement from DHCD for our roofing project at our Pleasant/Parker building has <br />been submitted to them for payment. No status update at this time. Executive Director is monitoring <br />that situation. <br />' - DHCD forwarded correspondence to the RHA regarding a Health and Safety Initiative Award FYI in <br />the amount of $13,500. Plans are underway to utilize these funds to replace front entry door within our <br />667 elderly developments at Tannerville. <br />DHCD correspondence received by the RHA regarding additional formula funding for FY15 in the <br />award amount of $83,854. These monies will continue to fund our approved 5 year plan projects <br />previously submitted to DHCD and will cover our planned projects for the fourth year of our plan. <br />
