o,�n orx <br />Town of Reading <br />RECEIVED <br />Meeting Minutes <br />fF: TOWN CLERK <br />i :E AMND, MASS. <br />Board - committee - Commission - Council: 1616 WAR -1 P is 58, <br />Historical Commission January 6, 2016 <br />Date: 2016 -01 -06 Time: 7:30 PM <br />Building: Reading Town Hall Location: Town Hall Conference Room <br />Address: 16 Lowell Street <br />Purpose: Demolition Delay Hearing for 309 Haven St and General Business Meeting <br />Attendees: Members - Present: <br />Chair: Carl Mittnight (CM) <br />Treasurer: Jonathan Barnes (JB) <br />Secretary: Sharlene Reynolds Santo (SRS) <br />Member: Ron Weston (RW) <br />Associates: Virginia Adams (VA) <br />lack Williams (JW) <br />Members - Not Present: <br />Others Present: <br />Alan Couillard (AC) <br />Minutes Respectfully Submitted By: Sharlene Reynolds Santo <br />Topics of Discussion: <br />Page I 1 <br />Call to Order <br />Hearing called to order at 7:30 pm. <br />309 Haven St <br />RW read the public notice. <br />Public <br />CM gave a brief summary of the purpose of the hearing and the <br />Hearing <br />process then introduced RHC members and property owner. <br />VA presented some background on the structure including its <br />appearance on the National Registry. <br />Several town resident spoke. Neighbors were curious about <br />new structure, couple of residents expressed concern about <br />losing another historic structure. <br />AC stated that he would be willing to work with the RHC to <br />compromise on design with hopes of shortening the delay. <br />CM moved that the presented information is sufficient to make a <br />final determination on the requested demolition of the structure <br />at 309 Haven St and that the public hearing be closed. JB <br />seconded Vote 4 -0 <br />CM moved that the loss of the structure at 309 Haven St would <br />be detrimental to the Town under the purposes of this bylaw <br />(7.2.1) and that a demolition delay of up to six (6) months be <br />imposed beginning this date. JW seconded. Vote 4 -0 <br />CM will notified the Building Inspector that a Delay on Demolition <br />of 309 Haven St for up to 6 months had been imposed on the <br />property. <br />e CM mowed to Close the hearing at 8:30 pm SRS seconded Vote <br />4 -0. <br />Lob's Pound <br />JB gave an update on the Town's and a public meeting that was <br />Contact MHD <br />JW <br />Mill <br />coming up.
