BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING —JUNE 21, 2012 RECEIVED <br />TOWN CLERK <br />READING. MASS.. <br />The meeting of the Reading Board of Health came to order at 5:35 pm June 21 UblliW t1i BlrgeNUdfni <br />of Reading Town Hall. Present at the meeting were Board members Barbara Meade, David Singer and <br />Andrew Friedmann, staff Ruth Clay, and public Stop & Shop Store Manager Gerry Lemko . <br />Motion made by Singer, seconded by Meade to approve the minutes of April 24, 2012 as presented. <br />Motion passed 2:0:1. <br />Motion made by Singer, seconded by Friedmann to approve the minutes of May 24, 2012 as presented. <br />Motion passed 3:0:0. <br />Public Hearing Section 16 Restricting Sale of Tobacco Products & Nicotine Delivery Products: Motion <br />made by Friedmann, seconded by Singer to open the Public Hearing. Motion passed unanimously. No <br />comments from the public. Motion made by Friedmann, seconded by Singer to close the Public Hearing. <br />Motion passed unanimously. Discussion was held as to whether the pharmacies had sufficient time to <br />remove their tobacco products. It was determined that they had sufficient notice. Motion made by <br />Friedmann, seconded by Singer to approve the revised Section 16 as presented. Motion passed <br />unanimously. <br />Public Hearing Section 25 Prohibition Smoking in Workplaces and Public Places: Motion made by <br />Friedmann, seconded by Singer to open the Public Hearing. Motion passed unanimously. No comments <br />from the public. Motion made by Friedmann, seconded by Singer to close the Public Hearing. Motion <br />passed unanimously. No further discussion by the Board members. Motion made by Friedmann, <br />seconded by Singer to approve the revised Section 16 as presented. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Other business and items not reasonably anticipated at the time of posting: Clay reported on her <br />meeting with the Town Manager and Director of Community Services concerning the first six months of <br />the new arrangement with Wakefield and Melrose. Both felt very positively about the experience. Clay <br />updated the Board on the TdaP clinic. 91 of the 100 registered people attended the clinic. Additional <br />vaccine will be purchased to immunize those on the waiting list. Macaroni Grill has hired a consultant to <br />assist them in improving their inspections. No meeting will be held this summer unless there is an <br />urgent issue to address.
