Emily
provides a short background and is excited to be involved. The committee welcomes her.
John Feudo then goes right Into a request by David Chase from Men's Soccer. Dave Is
present to make this request and is asking the Recreation Committee to play at Memorial
Park under the lights on 3 dates in October. The three dates are October 8`h, 150, and 22nd.
He would like the 7pm-Spm time slot. Dave shows a quick picture of which field he would
like to use. He is hoping to get the one closest to the basketball court. Dave also mentions
his interest in sprucing up of the medal box. He suggests an art contest at one of the
schools and whoever wins can paint a mural on the box to make it more appealing to the
eye. Members on the committee agree that it would be a good idea to beautify the box.
Rich Hand asks how lights would be turned on. Dave Chase responds that John Feudo would
most likely give him a key to turn the lights on and off. Dave Chase also says he can be
Flexible on the logistics of how they get turned on and off and he and John can have a
conversation. A brief conversation takes place with Dave and the committee about where
they have played in the past and present. Dave and the men have played at Castine and
Memorial. Dave adds that they like the sunken field because it catches balls more easily too.
Adam Chase makes a motion to approve the field with lights from 7pm-8pm at Memorial
Park on October 8`h, 15`h, and 22nd for Dave Chase and the Men's Soccer Group. John Feudo
recommends that Dave Chase goes around notifying a few of his neighbors since he lives in
the Memorial Park Neighborhood himself. The committee agrees this would be a nice
gesture to give the neighbors a heads up. Rich Hand seconds the motion. All were in favor
with a 5-0 vote.
The committee takes some time to review the minutes from the meeting in July.
Page 1 1
