Carlos Robles Malave is the new coordinator for this region. MassRIDES is for all alternative modes: car /van pool, walk, bike, transit even telework which includes incentives from NuRides to provide for awards for trips; can find ride - matching for trips, log in and populate everyone coming from your area; work specific or leisure time; incentive program for green commute beyond car pool; track and get rewards; and, it will show you gas, maintenance, emissions savings. • With the NuRide, can be town or work specific or general public; most partners' keep it work specific ride sharing. While this limits your options, it does guarantee that only people at your workplace will be matched - some people feel more comfortable in- house; emergency ride home program gives access to getting home another way home - rental /cab - and MassRIDES reimburses with recei pt. • Over half a million people in the state are using this program. • Can use for carpooling to team sports - could be like a usual commute, but could be one time event; it's private with user name, google maps does the mapping using a radius that you put in for how far to pick up and drop off. • Benefits: smaller benefits include 500 points on the train, example incentive: could have 15% off Macy's, or tickets to the Renaissance Faire; local /national vendors. Discounts aren't huge, coffee, or Dave and Busters percent off to entice you in. • Thoughts: tried to get synergy for employees and teachers, in previous outreach by CAC: • a) e.g., for town as did before, can do a zip code map and an unpopulated map for town government, that they can put pins in.
