Minutes of the previous meeting were approved.
Treasurer's Report was presented and approved.
Publicity and Advertising
Update about the idea of a training video for grant writing for RCC proposals took place. It was
decided to make the event an Open House on May 4, the date of the May RCC meeting and hold it in
the Senior Center. Nancy suggested taking an informal survey of grant recipients about what they felt
would be helpful information to include. Nancy and Mary Ann will collaborate.
We will seek approval to put our signs on the Common again. Possibly in May and again in Fall.
Nancy will put together a list of all non - profit organizations in Reading to target with mailings. We
talked about ads in the Reading Recreation bulletin and Community Connection.
Our Facebook account has expired due to lack of activity. We discussed the fact that it is probably not
worth trying to maintain it as people don't have a reason to "like" our page and there are so many
other ways to communicate, such as through the Town of Reading Facebook page, LCC and MCC, etc.
Donna suggested we use flyers, which we can easily print and distribute to high - traffic areas like
grocery stores, the YMCA, churches, banks, etc. Donna will prepare these.
Discussion about membership —Cate and Nancy will complete their terms June 30. Cate reported that
she does not plan to continue, therefore we will need a new Treasurer. Jane Soloway is interested in
becoming a member and would be able to perform that duty. Another person has expressed interest
in joining the committee and will attend the next meeting.
Meeting adjourned at 7:45 pm.
Page 1 1
