Minutes for the 3501h Celebration Trust And Historic Preservation Trust September 15, 2008 Call to Order 7.00 PM September 15, 2008 In attendance: Mark Cardono, Chairperson and Secretary Kurt Habel, Member Bob McLaughlin, Member Everett Blodgett, Member Rita Robertson, Member Review and discussion of 350th Celebration Trust Fund an¢.- Historic Preservation Trust Applications: \ \. 1) Reading -North Reading Chamber of Commerc - $1500 rom the 350th Celebration Trust 4'1 for the "Holiday Tree Lighting" 5 Q?GC -u The members discussed the application and how well it meets the criteria of the fund. Everett made a motion to grant the Reading -North Reading Chamber of Commerce $1500 from the 350th Celebrationjar t for the "Holiday Tree Lighting ". Rita seconded the motion. Vote" -04, 2) Reading Historical Commission $5000 rom the Historic Preservation Trust for approximately 10 granite pavers at have historic information about Reading. These liq pavers will be set into the sidewalks in the downtown area. The members discussed the application and how well it meets the criteria of the fund. 51 R UXIC' Rita made a motion to grant the Reading Historical Commission the full request of $5000 from the Historic Preservation Trust for the granite pavers project with the following stipulations; The Historic Preservation Trust will be reimbursed if other funding is found; The text to be engraved will be reviewed by one or more members of the 3501 Celebration Trust Fund and Historic Preservation Trust. Bob seconded the motion. Vote: 5 -0 -0. Election of Officers: Kurt moved that the current Secretary and Chairman, both Mark Cardono, remain the same. Rita seconded the motion. Vote: 5 -0 -0. The members discussed the next open application period. Kurt moved to make the next open application period, from January 1, 2009 to April 30, 2009. Bob seconded the motion. Vote: 5 -0 -0. Miscellaneous: The members discussed the available funds for each fund. However, Mark has only received a record of the Historic Preservation Trust. It is important that the members receive several reports a year on the funds' status. The next meeting will be in the Spring of 2009 to review applications submitted during the January 1, 2009 to April 30, 2009 open application period. It was brought to the members' attention that The Fire Department has not received their grant from 2008. The members have not seen and financials for the funds. We respectfully request the financial statements be provided to the Chairman of the 350th Celebration Trust Fund and Historic Preservation Trust, prior to the next meeting in May 2009.
