Swain made a motion to accept the July, 22nd 2014 meeting minutes. K. Kaminer
seconded the motion. Motion passed in favor by vote of 4 -0 -1.
J. Feudo introduced Jeff Pierce and Roy Sletterink from Reading Babe Ruth to discuss the
concept of Dugouts at Morton Field.
Dugouts at Morton Field
Mr. Pierce thanked the committee for the opportunity. He is the president of the league.
He said now that the town has purchased new benches for Morton Field, the RBRL would like
to take the project to the next level and install dugouts.
Mr. Pierce feels the current bench situation is somewhat dangerous with no protection for
the players. There is also no segregation between players and fans which can be difficult.
Also, the roof would be a nice shelter for players and equipment during rain.
Mr. Pierce stated the RBRL would be interested in funding this project in its entirety.
He handed out some superimposed photos of what the dugouts might look like as well as
some samples. RBRL are looking for typical chain link fencing as well as a pitched roof. The
benches are 25' long so the dugouts would be 36' in length.
Page 1 1
2013 -09 -03
