The committee voted to approve
minutes of the 01/14/15 meeting as written by Joan Boegel and amended by Gina
Snyder.
• Council on Aging / Energy Efficiency financing for low income seniors. The
Committee is still interested in supporting this program with the Council on Aging.
Gina will contact the current chair of the Council on Aging and try to get this topic on
their agenda.
• RMLD. Tom 011ila, from RMLD "Integrated Resources" described two programs for
which RMLD seeks the Climate Advisory Committee's involvement.
• RMLD on -line LED store. RMLD obtained a grant to set up an on -line store
through which residential customers can purchase LED bulbs at a discounted
price. This will go live in the April -May timeframe. RMLD would like the
Committee to help promote it. Gina suggested that we could promote it at
the April 25th Earth Day event with a display of LED bulbs. We could also
have a Green Sense article and link to our website.
• RMLD General Manager and the Board support Community Solar. They would
identify a site (or sites, ideally one in each RMLD town), install an array of
solar panels (initially 100 to 1000 kW) and invite customers to purchase one
or more solar panels. This program would replace Green Choice. Details
need to be worked out. RMLD wants Committee's help to get Town of
Reading leadership on board for Community Solar study. The committee
agreed to help, first forming a subcommittee. Mike, Gina, and Joan
volunteered for the subcommittee. Tom 011ila will write up a general
overview of the mission and goals.
Page i 1
2013 -09 -03
