Mr SS. <br />Board - Committee - Commission - Council: <br />Cultural Council <br />Date: 2014 -09 -08 <br />Building: Pleasant Street Senior Center <br />Address: 49 Pleasant Street <br />Purpose: Business <br />Attendees: Members - Present: <br />2914 OCT 28 A 10: 30 <br />Time: 7:00 <br />Location: Arts and Crafts Room <br />Session: <br />Peggy Caouette, Nancy Snow, Donna Schenkel, Maryann Kozlowski, <br />Catherine Folan, Rosemary Lewis <br />Members - Not Present: <br />Jacalyn Shelton Wallace <br />Others Present: <br />Lynne Cassinari <br />Minutes Respectfully Submitted By: Rosemary Lewis <br />Topics of Discussion: <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:05 pm in the Arts and Crafts Room of the Pleasant <br />Street Senior Center by acting Chairperson, Peggy Caouette. Minutes of the May meeting <br />were read and approved. <br />Cate reported that the Treasurer's report will not be finalized until the end of this week, <br />therefore, the report will be emailed to members as soon as possible. There was an <br />expenditure of $20 for the ad in the Reading Recreation Catalog. Lynne reported that she <br />received a call from someone who saw the ad; so it was effective. <br />The Slate of Officers was presented and there was discussion about the number of <br />members. Massachusetts Cultural Commission requires a minimum of 5 active members. <br />The Town of Reading restricts membership to 7 members. Donna stated she knew another <br />person who may be interested in volunteering which would bring us up to full membership. <br />At the close of this meeting, Peggy will be finished with her term. After discussion, the <br />motion to approve the slate of officers was seconded and approved. <br />The schedule for upcoming meetings in 2014 was discussed and it was decided to move the <br />October meeting to 10/27/14 so that grant applications would be in and could be <br />disseminated to members. Applicants will be invited to the November 3 d meeting. Donna <br />and Nancy will contact applicants to invite them. <br />Cate has a meeting arranged with the Town Accountant 9/16/14 to complete the LCC audit <br />form. Lynne reported that the Annual Report is due Jan. 15, 2015. <br />Reading Website and the MCC website need to be updated with current members and <br />officers. Cate will update the town website; Donna will update the MCC website. <br />Signs about application deadline were presented to the committee. They will be posted on <br />Reading Common from Noon 9/29 to Noon 10/13/14. Peggy offered to handle this. <br />Page 1 1 <br />
