37 <br />READING SCHOOL COMMITTEE MINUTES September 27, 1982 <br />Call to Order <br />The regular meeting of the Reading School Committee was called to order by <br />Chairman Garroway on September 27, 1982, at 7 :30 p.m.,in the Central Office <br />Conference Room. All members were present, as well as Superintendent Wells <br />and Assistant Superintendent Munnelly. Assistant Superintendent Winslow was <br />unable to be present due to illness. <br />Dr. Donald R. Walker, Chairman of the State Board of Education, was among the <br />12 visitors present. Other visitors included FOCUS Program Coordinator <br />Kenneth Feit, FOCUS teachers Joan DeSalvo, Mary Jane Weinstein and Samuel Baker <br />(currently on a year's leave of absence), and representatives of the Finance <br />Committee, the Citizens Advisory Council and the Daily Times and Chronicle. <br />Approval of the Minutes of Se tember 13, 1982 <br />On a motion by Mr. Landers, seconded by Mr. Allen, the minutes of the meeting <br />of September 13, 1982 were unanimously approved. <br />Approval of Bills and Payrolls <br />Warrants for bills and payrolls were approved as follows: <br />Bills <br />September 24, 1982 - General Expense - Total - $31,627.16 <br />October 1, 1982 - General Expense - Total - $21,997.49 <br />October 1, 1982 - Cafeteria Revolving Account - Total - $16,819.70 <br />Payrolls <br />September 23, 1982 - Teachers -Total - $285,371.89 <br />September 24, 1982 - Weekly - Total $26,645.01 <br />October 1, 1982- Weekly - Total - $24,263.42 <br />Citizens' Input <br />There was no citizens' input. <br />Old Business <br />Under this agenda item the Chairman stated that he had requested Mr. Nigro <br />review the policy on evaluation of the Superintendent. He added that Mr. Nigro <br />had agreed and would work with the Superintendent in reviewing the policy. <br />Mr. Donald Shepheard, Chairman of the Citizens Advisory Council (CAC) said his <br />organization members had agreed that it would be more meaningful if the <br />Superintendent's evaluation was conducted in executive session, with a summary <br />released to the public. <br />Five -year Capital Outlay Plan <br />Dr. Wells spoke on the Five -year Capital Outlay Plan, elaborating on the <br />explanation sheets which accompanied the plan and mrritinnino fin,. cniir . fr <br />which the figures had been obtained. <br />During a brief discussion it was brought out that some of the figures may have <br />
